Terms of use

These terms apply to the Lumbre app for iPhone and iPad, made by Lone Astronaut Studios. By using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply.

What Lumbre is

Lumbre reads EPUB and PDF files that you bring to it, and can read them aloud using the voices on your device. Lumbre does not sell, supply or recommend books. You are responsible for having the right to read the files you import.

Paying for it

Lumbre is paid. You can subscribe monthly, with a free trial of seven days the first time, or buy a lifetime licence once. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically and are charged to your App Store account until you cancel, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Buying the lifetime licence during a trial ends the trial. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's rules.

If a subscription lapses, your books, notes, position and streak are kept. Any purchase unlocks them again.

Your content

Your books, notes and summaries are yours. They live on your devices and in your iCloud; we have no access to them and claim no rights over them. See the privacy policy.

Voices

Speech is produced by your device using voices provided by Apple, or a Personal Voice you created. Their quality and availability depend on your device and its settings.

No warranty

Lumbre is provided as it is. We work to keep it reliable, and we do not promise that it is free of errors or that any file will render or be read aloud correctly. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from the use of the app, including loss of notes or summaries; keep your own copies of anything important, which the Files app makes easy.

Changes and termination

We may change these terms; the date below moves when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using Lumbre at any time by deleting it. We may end access for misuse of the app.

Questions go to the address on the support page. These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Lone Astronaut Studios is established, without affecting the consumer protections you have where you live. Our trader details for the European Union are shown on the App Store listing.
